Frequently Asked Questions - Reflexology |
||||||||
Who is it for? How often do I need to have Reflexology? How do I start? What should I wear for a Reflexology treatment? Anything else?
A: Everybody. Reflexology is safe for children and the elderly. Even newborn babies respond well to Reflexology. It is extremely beneficial in pregnancy, alleviating morning sickness, tiredness and other common ailments associated with pregnancy. It can be extremely helpful in relaxing the terminally ill, helping them to cope with the emotional side of their illness and has also been known to assist with relieving pain. It can also be used alongside chemotherapy, helping the body to become more balanced. It is a myth that because Reflexology rids the body of toxins, chemotherapy will fail to work. The body will react to chemotherapy as it needs to and Reflexology will help to relax the client and assist in the healing process. Many hospitals now recommend Reflexology for cancer patients. Indeed, some Reflexologists work in clinics at hospitals and hospices. Even those with ticklish feet will love Reflexology, as firm pressure is used. If there are any giggles, it will not be due to any ticklish spots!
Q: How often do I need to have Reflexology? A: It is totally safe to have Reflexology daily, however not always practical! Typically, clients have a weekly treatment to help to relieve particular conditions and once they feel that their body is balanced, they might move to fortnightly then three-weekly or monthly for 'maintenance' treatments or purely for relaxation. Other clients have Reflexology on an ad-hoc basis, as a treat and it is very popular in the workplace to help with stress and tension. Often employees return to their work refreshed and raring to go. If you have an acute condition, it would be wise to have Reflexology as regularly as possible until the symptoms are alleviated, then revert to a maintenance programme. We will work with you to establish the ideal frequency of your treatments, as always, the deciding factor is yours.
A: The best way to start is by giving us a call or contacting us via email. We can then answer any questions you have. If you want to proceed, we will book you in at a convenient time. It is as simple as that.
Q: What should I wear for a Reflexology Treatment? A: Anything. Reflexology can be given in the workplace, so even if you have a suit on, it doesn't matter. As we need to get to your bare feet, it is a good idea not to wear tights, or if you do, just appreciate that they will have to be removed before your treatment.
